Duncan is cleared to rejoin the pack, and to off leash play in increasing increments over the next couple weeks. His x-rays are good, his range of motion is great, and the surgeon seemed a little impressed with Duncan's attitude in general. (Duncan was much relieved to come back to me, last time we were in that room I had to leave him for surgery.)
Duncan's having fun playing bitey face. He's not up and wrestling the pups, but he'll lay down, putting his TPLOed knee under him, and grab at puppy ankles as they go by. He chased Strider for about two minutes, then decided that was enough running for the day. He's a tiny bit stiff today, but he's still playing and hopping on and off of furniture.
We'll be back to full time fetch and tackle games in a couple weeks. It's nice not to have to do the rotation of young dogs. Ocho does not approve this change, as Duncan is joining in the young dog gaunlets where everyone pesters the old man (mostly muzzle licks or sniffing his behind) until Ocho busts out the "you kids get off my lawn!" bark. Since he (rarely) joins them in play, they're all gambling this will be the time the old man will play with them, and they back off when they're told off.
