Duncan's TPLO was a success, but I was still seeing him limp if he went to play fetch for 3 reps, and he just wasn't improving on his own with walks. He'd be limping after 3 minutes on the treadmill. I found a place that does underwater treadmill sessions, and Thursday, we went.
The plan was to do a 15 minute session to get him use to the setup and equipment. Dunc loves water, and he loves our treadmill. After he was sure this was not actually a bath, he relaxed, and we did the full 30 minutes instead of the half session.
The vet who runs the treadmill took video, and says Duncan's short striding on the left about 3 inches on the forward reach, and 4 or so on the rear extension. He thinks we'll need 8 to 12 sessions, and with it being summer and there being nice soft grass, probably closer to 8 than 12.
He did need an EtoGesic just as we got home, but he was sound again by Friday evening. I'm very hopeful this will help my muttly man.
We'll see if he goes in on his own the 2nd session. He thought it was a bathtub and didn't want to go in the 1st time.
