Job interview and write-in

Feb 13th, Keeper went along with me on a job interview. It was at a library we go to for writers' group, so she was confused at the break in routine, and the many different destinations. She did help me calm down and interview better, but I still haven't heard back. I'm hopeful.

Keeper and Sasha sniff noses.
That evening, we went to a write-in at a friend's house. Keeper did well with the two resident cats and did well with the resident dog when she showed up later. Watching a Boston Terrier and a Bernese Mountain Dog getting to know each other is kind of adorable. Lucy was a stray, she might be a mix. Whatever she is, she's cute.

Sasha's a sweet boy, but he's a little brain damaged, kind of like our dog Ocho. He was on the couch as we came in, and was totally unconcerned with this giant dog coming into his house. Dexter was much less amused.
Dexter lurks in the doorway, glaring at the unwelcome furball.
Dexter spent his time going from chair to doorway, keeping an eye on Keeper and glaring at her for daring to be in his house. He kept it up the full two and a half hours we were there. He did get closer as the evening wore on, but he was not a fan at all. He did relax for his normal 9:30pm playtime with Sasha, and they went ping-ponging back and forth in the living room (we were in the kitchen, Keeper could see them through the doorway). Keeper was pretty okay with Sasha, but as soon as she saw Dexter, she was on her best behavior, and went slinking past him, because he has the same tabby pattern as my cousin's cat, Pepper, who has smacked Keeper in the past.

Lucy and Keeper sniff noses.
And shortly before we headed out, my friend's sister and her dog Lucy returned from a play date with her granddad's Boston. I assume Keeper, in her former life as a show dog, has seen adult dogs that small, but she seemed perplexed. Lucy ran to check that her food was still there (it was- Keeper's "leave it" is getting respectable), and then licked Keeper's muzzle. Keeper wasn't sure about that, and I don't think Lucy wanted to share her new house, but they were both very polite about it. Once Lucy had checked on her food, and her bed, and been loved on by the people, she seemed like she was thinking about seeing if Keeper would play, but by then we were headed home.
